Campaign Info

Dear Federal Employee:

I am humbled to report that federal employees who live and work in our area pledged more than $1,511,000 through our Coastal Carolina CFC in 2009 to local, national, and international service agencies and federations. That this standard was achieved in the most challenging economic climate since the Great Depression is a significant accomplishment, particularly as it marks only the second time in local CFC history that pledges increased by double digits. (The other time was in 2001.) It would not have been possible without the support of leaders within our federal agencies like you. Thank you for your leadership and commitment to helping people who urgently need our help.

For the last decade, Americans have asked their federal workers to shoulder an increasing load, whether it's engaging in two overseas conflicts or delivering the mail with fewer resources every year. Despite the deployments, cutbacks and economic struggles, federal employees came through again with an 11% increase in donations.

The CFC will distribute the contributions raised through your employee campaign to the charities that work on the issues you and your fellow employees care about most deeply, and will do so as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Thank you again for supporting the CFC. For another year, you have demonstrated what service to others is all about.

Sincerely,

Bruce C. Urbon, Captain, USN
Chair, 2009 Coastal Carolina CFC
